
Jo Shim, Managing Partner
It was the quest for excellence which drove Jo Shim to excel in her career. Time and a good mentor gave her the opportunity to emerge in the world of media, and now representing some of the world’s top brands is a career dream come true for her.

Jo began her media career when she joined MediaPlus in 1992, then the country’s top media rep company. MediaPlus' porfolio represented most of the top regional titles like Business Week, The Financial Times, Newsweek, CNN, The Economist, and Forbes.
​
In 1994, she joined HBM Publishing of the Ho Bee Media group in Singapore, as Sales Manager to help launch the entertainment magazine, M3.
​
She rejoined MediaPlus in Malaysia in 1997. Besides sales, she played an active role in the management of the company. Later, she left and started Next Media representing some of the leading global business and lifestyle media in Malaysia.

Tony H M Tan, Chief Strategy Officer
Tony was educated at The Ohio State University in the United States with a B.Sc. in Business Administration – Majoring in Marketing. He feels fortunate to have a career track record of working with market leaders.

He interned in 1985 at Mark Pi’s International, a Columbus, Ohio based oriental chain of 25 gourmet and fast food restaurants throughout the American mid-west. After graduation and by 1987 he had risen through the ranks to be the Marketing Director.
He returned to Malaysia in 1988 and worked for a leading advertising agency, before he joined Parkson Corporation, then the largest retail department store and supermarket chain in the country, as the Advertising & Promotions Manager.

In 1993, Guerlain, a Paris based international cosmetics company, recruited him as Country Manager for Malaysia. His success at Guerlain prompted The Estee Lauder company to hire him in 1995 for the Clinique Brand Manager position in Singapore.

Then in 1997, he co-founded Next Media. In 2018 he was the Leadership Solutions Specialist for Center for Creative Leadership (CCL.org). In 2021, he took over the account to represent CNN.
